Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Baker's German chocolate, chopped

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt chocolate with water over low heat.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Beat in egg yolks one at a time.
  7. Add vanilla and melted chocolate.
