
Cherry Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- In large saucepan, combine cherries and water
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes
- Add sugar and lemon juice
- Cook for 10 minutes until sugar dissolves
- Remove from heat and let cool
- Puree mixture in blender
- Strain through fine mesh sieve
- Return to pan and add vanilla, salt, and cinnamon
- Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened
- Let cool completely
- Store in airtight container
