Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut each bread slice into 3 strips
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt
  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat
  4. Dip bread strips into egg mixture, coating both sides
  5. Let excess mixture drip off before placing in skillet
  6. Cook strips for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown
  7. Remove and place on paper towels to drain
  8. Repeat with remaining strips
  9. Dust with powdered sugar
  10. Serve immediately with maple syrup
