Ingredients

  • 1 package kataifi dough
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In a bowl, combine walnuts, almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg
  3. Mix well to combine
  4. Brush kataifi dough with melted butter
  5. Place small amounts of nut mixture along the dough
  6. Roll up tightly to form cigar shapes
  7. Place on a greased baking sheet
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
  9. In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and lemon juice
  10. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  11. Pour syrup over hot kataifi
  12. Let cool before serving
