Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, protein powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to flour mixture.
  4. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  7. Punch down dough and divide into 6 pieces.
  8. Shape into bagels and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  11. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  12. Boil each bagel for 30 seconds per side.
  13. Place back on baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  14. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  15. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
