Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, shredded
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crispy
  2. Remove bacon and set aside
  3. Add onion to bacon fat and cook until softened
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
  5. Add shredded cabbage and cook for 5 minutes
  6. Add chicken broth, vinegar, and brown sugar
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes
  8. Cover and cook for 10 minutes until cabbage is tender
  9. Stir in reserved bacon
  10. Garnish with green onions
  11. Serve hot
